Super cool spot in downtown Wilmington. Don’t let the small indoor space fool you, the multi-level outdoor area in the back is incredible. Looks like they’re serving Perc coffee and have a custom roast available for sale. Tried the espresso and a specialty drink and both were excellent. Ham and cheese pastry was incredible as well. This is a must-visit for coffee folks. Shout out to the incredible baristas slinging coffee as well!

If I could give atmosphere a 10 out of 5, I would! The “hidden” grounds behind the coffee shop were some of the most relaxing, neat, and comfortable place you could find yourself enjoying a delicious coffee. We went here twice because the coffees were so unique and tasty. Highly highly recommend making this a priority if you’re in Wilmington!

I had an amazing experience at Hidden Grounds Coffee in Wilmington. I always srop by every time I visit., and the atmosphere is unlike any coffee shop I’ve visited — the dinosaur-themed decor and cozy outdoor patio make it both fun and relaxing. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick even though the shop was busy. The coffee itself was outstanding. The Marlboro Man coffee is my favorite. Their specialty drinks are creative without being over-the-top, and everything tasted fresh and expertly made. I especially love how much personality the shop has, from the unique menu items to the laid-back backyard seating area. It’s easy to see why locals and visitors rave about this place online. Customers consistently praise the coffee quality, fun vibe, and friendly baristas. If you’re in Wilmington and want a coffee shop with great drinks, a memorable atmosphere, and genuinely kind people, Hidden Grounds Coffee is absolutely worth visiting. 100% recommended.

I ordered the Thai-Rannosaurus Rex coffee which had white chocolate and vanilla cold foam. It was about $7 which is around the going rate these days. The woman was friendly and made my coffee fast. The place is super small and the only seating is outside which doesn’t help when it’s raining. The coffee was good but not great. There are a lot of dinosaur decorations and dino toys on the tables in back.

I highly recommend their specialty menu for coffee. Expect the line to be long and service to be efficient if you come to this place for the first time. After you make & pay for your order, you walk out to an open air mezzanine area with tables & chairs and sitting areas to wait for your coffee. Very impressive ambience with a dinosaur theme . Toy dinosaurs are perched on each table. We waited near the window sill area where coffee orders were announced and placed for pick up. For our first coffee orders, my husband selected the Marlboro Man - a classic vanilla latte. I ordered a Nanner Puddin , an espresso coffee with a banana & caramel flavor. They both were superb & one of the finest coffees we ever had. Traffic builds up quickly to this coffee place early in the morning. So run don't walk to Hidden Grounds for a one of a kind coffee experience! (January 24,2026)
